Magmatic layering along the northern margin of a dated Cretaceous (94 Ma: Coleman et al., 1998) mafic dike in the Woods Lake basin, eastern Sierra. This layering differs considerably from sigmoidal foliation found across some deformed Jurassic mafic dikes in the same area (compare with IDS Photo 6, IDS Photo 9).
