Oblique view to the south of a "syn-deformational" dike in the Woods Lake basin. The mafic dike cuts mylonitic shear zones displacing aplite and, in turn, is cut by a 0.5 m-wide mylonite zone to the east (left) of the outcrop. We interpret this field relationship to indicate that mylonitization occurred closely in time with dike intrusion (Carl et al., 1996a). |
