A mafic dike is tightly folded across a shear zone confined to this rhyolite dike. The fold provides unequivocal proof that ductile deformation occurred within felsic dikes in the eastern Sierra. Why such deformation is often confined to dikes remains enigmatic. Mechanical pencil for scale.
